In Ella, Primož Ekart's play based on Herbert Achternbusch's same-titled drama, a man tells the story of his mother, beaten by her father until she loses her mind. The play, a minimalistic tour de force, features two actors – Štefka Drolc as Ella and Primož Ekart as her son – and a single piece of music, La Violetera (Flower Girl), Silence's adaptation of Charlie Chaplin's famous City Lights theme.
