Acoustic performance
Gallus Hall, Cankarjev dom, Ljubljana
Recorded live on December 23 2019 by RTV Slovenia

Tvoje srce, moja domovina (Your Heart, My Homeland), the artistic programme of the 2019 State Celebration of the Slovene Independence and Unity Day, featured a selection of songs by lyricist Gregor Strniša, which were set to music by Silence.

The performance, an adaptation of director Matjaž Pograjc's theatrical concert Slovenska popevka (Slovene Song), included eight professional actors and twelve artists with disabilities.

The duet arranged six songs from Slovenska popevka for big band. The compositions were performed by Big Band RTV Slovenija, conductor Tomaž Gajšt, keyboardist Marko Brdnik, drummer Bojan Krhlanko, pianist Igor Vićentić, keyboardist Petra Vidmar, and Benko.

The artistic programme was well received. Stanka Prodnik (Mladina) wrote: ‘With what occasionally appeared as genuine magic, and certainly a lot of invested work, the artists created a cheerful, all-inclusive, and open-minded celebration.’ According to Marko Crnkovič (Večer), the performance was, ‘artistically speaking, the best celebration in the history of independent Slovenia.’

The event was broadcast on Slovene National TV and radio.
